As we approach the 2017 Little League season, the Urbana Little League is seeking volunteers to help everything run smoothly for each of our Suited, Farm and Peanut teams. Specifically:

— We need volunteers to coach. We are always looking for parents to manage teams or even to assist.

— We need volunteers to umpire, especially at the Farm and Peanut levels.

— We need volunteers to help maintain our fields, making sure they are free of debris or standing water and that the bases are in place and the lines chalked before each game.

— And we will need volunteers to help at the Yankee Ridge concessions stand, so we can have it open on nights when our suited teams have home games.

If you are interested in helping the league in any capacity or want to hear more about these volunteer opportunities, please contact us urbanalittleleague@gmail.com.

If you plan to volunteer, you will need to:

— register as a volunteer at https://active.leagueone.com/Olr/Pages/Welcome.aspx?ClubId=13972;

— fill out the 2016 Volunteer Application or the 2016 Returning Volunteer Application (if you also volunteered during the 2015 season); and

— submit in person (or email us at urbanalittleleague@gmail.com) the completed volunteer form and a copy of your driver’s license or ID.

Please consider helping us out; volunteers not only make baseball a better experience for your own children, but also make a difference in the lives of hundreds of Urbana and Champaign children who play ball each summer in our league and at our ballparks.
